Argent D'Nur
The planet of the Night Sentinels, besieged by Hell in a war for the Heart of Argent.
Argent D'Nur is the planet where the Doom Slayer arrives and is subsequently empowered, and whose people, the Night Sentinels, he assists in their war against the forces of Hell. The demons seek an object known as the Heart of Argent on this world. The planet is ruled by King Novik, whose daughter is Commander Thira. The alien Maykrs have weaponized the Doom Slayer to aid the Night Sentinels, but the Slayer is not fighting entirely of his own free will, as his master, Kreed Maykr, suppresses him with a device called a Tether.

Lore & Background
Argent D'Nur is the homeworld of the Night Sentinels, a people led by King Novik. The planet is under assault by the forces of Hell, led by Prince Ahzrak, who seeks an object known as the Heart of Argent. The alien Maykrs have weaponized the Doom Slayer to assist the Sentinels in this war, though the Slayer is controlled by a Tether device worn by his master, Kreed Maykr. King Novik does not fully trust the Slayer or the Maykrs, and at one point keeps the Heart of Argent with himself. Commander Thira, Novik's daughter, is later revealed to be the Heart's power source, housing the soul of a Wraith, a descendant of the Cosmic Realm. After Ahzrak extracts Thira's soul to power the Heart, he leads a final assault against the Sentinels. Following the Slayer's defeat of Ahzrak, Thira rallies the Sentinels, bidding them not to put their faith in the Maykrs, but in themselves instead. Later, during the Revelations expansion, Argent D'Nur is on the brink of a civil war between Maykr loyalists and those who distrust them. Thira, after seeing her father's death through a replica of Novik's axe, orders her forces to rebel against the Maykrs.
In Their Own Story
The war for Argent D'Nur begins when the Doom Slayer, weaponized by the Maykrs, fights alongside the Night Sentinels against the demonic forces of Prince Ahzrak. Ahzrak seeks the Heart of Argent, but King Novik keeps it with himself, distrusting both the Slayer and the Maykrs. After Ahzrak steals the Heart and finds it empty, he allies with Kreed Maykr, who fears the Slayer. Commander Thira invokes an ancient ritual to empower the Slayer's shield, but Kreed betrays the Sentinels by revealing to Ahzrak that Thira is the Heart's power source. Thira is captured, and Ahzrak extracts her soul to power the Heart. The Slayer is imprisoned by the Old Ones but escapes by self-destructing his Tether, killing himself and fighting his way back from Hell. He kills Kreed, defeats Ahzrak, and frees Thira's soul. Ahzrak flees to Hell, where the Slayer kills him, causing his forces to retreat. The Maykrs disavow Kreed's actions, and Thira rallies the Sentinels to put their faith in themselves, not the Maykrs. Later, in the Revelations expansion, the Slayer learns that the Khan Maykr secretly allied with Hell, and that Novik was killed by Valen's son, Marok. Thira, upon seeing Novik's death, orders her forces to rebel against the Maykrs, declaring war.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Argent D'Nur?
Argent D'Nur is a golden fortress realm that now exists within Hell, though it was originally an independent world dedicated to order. It was eventually consumed by demonic forces after its defenses were breached.
Who are the native inhabitants of this realm?
The native inhabitants were the Argenta, specifically the warrior caste known as the Night Sentinels before their fall. This realm is their ancestral home and was never inhabited by a group called Praetorians.
How does Argent D'Nur relate to the Doom Slayer?
The Slayer was imprisoned within these walls after his allies fell during a conflict on the planet. He later escaped using advanced technology recovered from the ruins to construct his iconic armor.
Is Argent D'Nur currently under demonic control?
Yes, despite its history as a bastion of order, the realm remains occupied by Hell's forces following the fall of the Night Sentinels. It now serves as a hostile stronghold rather than a sanctuary.
Why is this location significant to Doom lore?
It provides the critical backstory for the Slayer's imprisonment and explains the origin of his high-tech weaponry. Without these resources, he would lack the power required to wage war across dimensions.
