In the single-player campaign of Doom (2016), the Mancubus is one of the demonic forces the Doom Slayer battles. It is also one of the playable demons in the online multiplayer mode, where players can temporarily transform into it by obtaining "runes" during matches. The Mancubus is featured alongside other demons such as the Revenant and Baron of Hell, which also appear in the single-player campaign. The Prowler and Harvester are also playable demons in multiplayer but are not featured in the campaign.
In Their Own Story
The Mancubus appears as an enemy in the single-player campaign of Doom (2016), which takes place on Mars in 2149. The Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) operates a facility there to exploit energy from Hell, an alternate dimension populated by hostile demons. The facility is run by Samuel Hayden, a UAC scientist who transferred his consciousness to an android body. The player character, known as the Doom Slayer, battles demonic forces including the Mancubus as he fights through the facility and into Hell to stop the demonic invasion led by Olivia Pierce.
